Whilst providing useful space, a badly designed conservatory can be an energy drain for the house as a whole. Firstly to avoid this the conservatory must be accessed from the rest of the house by means of an external quality (insulated) door, so that it can then be closed off at night and on cold days.
Unlike extensions your conservatory does not generally require Building Regulations which means there is no requirement for companies to build your conservatory with energy efficient materials.
However at Kingfisher we will build your conservatory to be a room for all seasons. Bearing this in mind your conservatory will still require an independent heating source to keep it warm in the winter
The following are some of the things we can do to make your conservatory as comfortable as possible:
- A-rated windows fitted as standard
- Kingspan underfloor insulation if required
- Rockwool cavity wall insulation. Kingspan if required
- 35mm 7 ply Polycarbonate roof
- Molan solar control foil within the polycarbonate. Mainly for South facing sites to keep your conservatory cooler in Summer
- Various types of energy efficient glass roofs depending on your requirements i.e. Pilkington Activ blue self cleaning glass roof
- Trickle ventilation within the roof as standard
- Choice of various high quality remote control fans
- Underfloor heating as well as slimline wall heaters
