Environment
In order to help us keep our impact on the environment to an absolute minimum, we developed the Kingfisher Environment Management System (EMS) which promotes sustainability and efficiency in all our materials and processes.
• All component packaging, cardboard and polythene wrapping is segregated, compacted and baled and sent to designated recycling plants.
We use Recycled Composite Material (RCM), a reinforcement for PVCu windows and doors which is manufactured from first generation waste PVCu. RCM is a cost-effective alternative to steel or aluminium which offers superb benefits such as improved thermal efficiency and a guaranteed life span of at least 35 years. In fact, given that PVCu can be recycled more than 10 times without any deterioration in performance, it has a total lifespan of around 400 years.
The Kingfisher Timber Collection is manufactured from sustainable wood which is sourced from well-managed forests and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. The range has also been endorsed by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Greenpeace and One Planet Living.
As a local company we’re also passionate about environmental causes closer to home. That’s why we’ve joined forces with the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT), contributing to funds for conservation projects across the region and planting a tree in Yorkshire for every Timber Collection customer. |
