Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust
Kingfisher Windows, a company with a history of supporting worthwhile local causes, is partnering with the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust to launch its new, sustainable FSC-approved Timber Collection . In addition to donating £500 to mark the start of the relationship, Kingfisher Windows will also be planting a tree for every customer who buys from their new timber range. Gary Long, Commercial Director at Kingfisher Windows commented, “We’ve always been a community-focused company, so with the launch of our new sustainable Timber Collection it made perfect sense to offer our support to the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust. The Yorkshire Dales is a great source of pride for everyone across the region and through the Trust we can directly contribute to conserving and enhancing it. “By only using FSC timber for our windows we’re already making sure that the wood has come from legal and well managed forests. Planting a tree after every customer purchase will be an added bonus!” David Sharrod, Director of the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust commented, “We’re delighted to have Kingfisher on board. They’ve got lots of different ideas about how they can support our many and varied projects and we very much look forward to working with them.” Since the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust was set up in 1996 it has assisted more than 600 diverse projects across the region worth £15 million. These include conservation work such as planting trees and dry stone walling, supporting community projects, encouraging sustainable development and engaging communities from nearby towns and cities. Prior to its partnership with the Trust, Kingfisher Windows has been involved with a number of local causes including St Gemma’s Hospice, Morley FM and also created its own Hands Up if You’re Against Bullying campaign to draw attention to the National Anti-Bullying Conference.
