Kingfisher Windows is proud to have successfully completed a major commercial glazing project on Agard Street in Derby, delivered for a local university as part of a new purpose-built student accommodation development. Working in close collaboration with developer Jensco Holdings Ltd and main contractor Clegg Construction, our team supplied and installed a range of high-performance Profile 22 tilt and turn windows, tailored specifically to the needs of modern student living.

This multi-storey student accommodation block presented a number of design and performance challenges, including the building’s distinctive shape, proximity to a busy road, and the need to balance ventilation, security, and space efficiency.
Window Solution
Given the nature of student accommodation, where safety, durability, and ease of use are paramount, the Profile 22 tilt and turn window system was selected as the ideal solution. Tilt and turn windows offer exceptional versatility, allowing for secure ventilation in tilt mode while also opening fully in turn mode for easy cleaning and maximum airflow.
The sash is neatly positioned within the frame, creating a sleek, flush appearance that delivers a contemporary aluminium-style aesthetic. For this project, the windows were finished in RAL 7016 smooth foil on white, complementing the building’s modern façade while maintaining long-term colour stability and low maintenance requirements.

Student comfort was a key consideration throughout the design and installation process. The windows installed at Agard Street deliver outstanding weather performance, ensuring a comfortable internal environment throughout the year:

Project Delivery
This project marked the first collaboration between Kingfisher Windows’ installation team and Clegg Construction, and it proved to be a highly successful partnership. Our experienced commercial team worked closely with all on-site trades to ensure the installation programme ran smoothly, safely, and in line with the overall construction schedule.
The project was completed on time and within budget, allowing the building to be handed over ready to welcome students at the start of the 2018/19 academic year. Due to the success of this project, further contracts between Kingfisher Windows and Clegg Construction have since been agreed.
