Kingfisher Windows is proud to have recently completed a project on Agard Street in Derby for the local University, where we worked with the developer Jensco Holdings Ltd and contractor Clegg Construction to install a variety of our market-leading tilt and turn windows in the new student accommodation block.
Given the nature of student accommodation and the shape of the building itself, we used the Profile 22 tilt and turn window profile to provide optimum ventilation and maximisation of space. The window has a sash that is neatly positioned inside the frame of the window, creating an elegant and sleek flush appearance and an aluminium look, especially when complemented with the RAL 7016 smooth foil finish on white, as was used in this project.
Students sleeping in this accommodation won’t have to worry about the elements disturbing their sleep, with the window offer an air permeability value of 600Pa, water tightness value of 600Pa and a wind resistance value of 2400Pa. The use of acoustic glazing on road elevations means that loud noises should stay outside of the property.
Security is a key factor when purchasing any new window, and the tilt and turn window is no different. This window is accredited by Secured by Design and meets PAS 24:2016 standards for security, so the students won’t have to worry about their possessions being taken or the accommodation being broken into.
This project was valued at £200,000 and completed on time and to budget, ready for welcome students at the start of the 2018/19 academic year. Our has plenty of experience when it comes to working with large-scale commercial projects and keeping our customers satisfied. We worked with the other on-site teams to ensure installation for this project ran smoothly and on schedule. This was the first contract between our installation team and Clegg Construction, with future contracts being agreed.
