Kingfisher Windows was appointed to deliver high-quality window, curtain walling and entrance door solutions as part of the Hall Road development in Hull. This project was undertaken in collaboration with main contractor Wates Living Space and formed part of a wider regeneration scheme to provide 316 extra care apartments designed to support a mix of assisted and independent living.

Project Background
The Hall Road development in Hull responds to the increasing demand for high-quality, accessible housing that offers both independence and support for residents. The scheme includes a range of accommodation units tailored for varying levels of care, and the design brief placed a strong emphasis on thermal performance, accessibility and resident comfort.
Kingfisher Windows was selected to supply and install a comprehensive package of glazed products that would help achieve these goals while complementing the client’s architectural vision.

What We Supplied
To meet the requirements of this mixed-use residential development, we provided:
-
Grey uPVC casement windows – offering durable, low-maintenance performance and a clean, contemporary finish across the elevations.
-
Thermally efficient aluminium curtain walling – installed in communal areas to allow generous natural light and create welcoming shared spaces.
-
Automatic entrance doors – for ease of access and enhanced accessibility at the main entrances of each block.
This combination of products helped ensure a cohesive appearance across the scheme while supporting comfort, security and practical performance for residents.

Key Benefits
Enhanced Comfort & Energy Efficiency
Kingfisher’s PVCu windows and aluminium curtain walling were specified for their thermal efficiency, contributing to energy retention and helping to lower heating costs — an important factor in supported living environments where comfort and affordability are critical.
Accessibility & Usability
Automatic opening doors improve accessibility for residents with mobility challenges, creating a more inclusive environment and ensuring ease of daily movement throughout the development.
Design & Aesthetic Integration
The use of grey casement windows delivers a contemporary look that unifies the building’s appearance, while the curtain walling brings light into shared internal spaces, enhancing resident experience and adding visual appeal.

Delivering for Residents
This project reflects Kingfisher Windows’ commitment to providing glazing solutions that balance performance, durability and design integrity. Working closely with Wates Living Space and on-site teams ensured that the installation was completed efficiently and to the high standards expected of a development of this scale.
The finished scheme now offers a modern, comfortable and accessible living environment suited to the needs of its residents — helping support independence without compromising on quality or style
