Delivering Secure, Energy-Efficient Window & Door Solutions for Riverside Gardens Retirement Living, North Yorkshire

 

   

• At Kingfisher Windows, we’re proud to have successfully completed the window and door installation at Riverside Gardens, a thoughtfully designed retirement living development in North Yorkshire.

 

• The scheme comprises 61 high-quality apartments, created to provide safe, comfortable and energy-efficient homes for later living. As with all retirement developments, the specification placed significant emphasis on natural light, thermal efficiency, security and long-term durability - making the choice of window and door partner a critical element of the build.

 

• With our extensive experience in delivering large-scale residential and retirement schemes, we were appointed to manufacture and install a fully compliant solution capable of meeting demanding technical and performance requirements.

Meeting an Exacting Specification

• This project required all windows and doors to achieve PAS 24:2022 security compliance alongside a U-value of 1.2 W/m²K. In addition, there were specific structural and barrier-loading requirements relating to balconies and upper-floor apartments to ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents.

 

• We worked closely with the design and construction teams to develop a solution that satisfied all structural calculations and compliance standards without compromising the visual integrity of the building. Careful consideration was given to reinforcement detailing and coupling methods to ensure both performance and aesthetic consistency.

In total, we manufactured and installed:

• 249 casement windows
• 67 sets of French doors

 

• The frames were finished externally in RAL 7016 anthracite grey, paired with clean white interiors - delivering a modern external appearance while maintaining a bright and adaptable internal finish for residents.

• Retirement living schemes demand absolute attention to detail, where safety, thermal efficiency and longevity are non-negotiable. We delivered the full installation programme on time and in line with the required compliance standards, ensuring seamless integration with the wider build schedule.
