Profile 22 manufacturer, Kingfisher uPVC Windows and Doors Ltd of Morley, Leeds, has appointed Glenn Trevelyan, as its new Production Manager. Glenn, 49, has more than 30 years in the window industry having joined his previous company back in 1986 straight from school. Over the years he has taken on a multitude of very different roles, including that of Trade Sales Representative, Order Processing Manager and Production Planning Manager; eventually achieving Operations Director status in 2005 where he stayed for four years. Following the crash of 2009 he was one of the few directors to be retained by that Company, taking on the role of Systems Manager. Kingfisher Windows’ Managing Director, Neil Webster said: “Filling this role of Production Manager with Kingfisher has been very difficult as we were looking for someone who could not only drive change within the Operations side of the business, but could help develop the team at senior management level. To do this, they needed a solid understanding of the Trade, Commercial and Domestic customer and how their demands impact directly on production at operational level. “This knowledge is obviously something that Glenn has developed over the years. However, the fact that he brings with him additional skills that are Production Planning and IT led, will enable us to quickly develop and extend the capabilities of our existing production software to all areas of the business,” he added. Glenn was a key part of the introduction and development of an highly-automated manufacturing and tracking process from Order processing right through to final delivery; experience that will readily transfer to Kingfisher Windows as the Company embraces a radical period of change. Glenn Trevelyan, said: “As soon as I became aware of the opportunity at kingfisher I was incredibly keen to make the move. I have known of the Company for a long time and know that they are customer focused with a great reputation in the industry. I felt I wanted to be a part. “I am looking forward greatly to the challenge of working here and only see good things for both the company and myself,” he added. The appointment comes shortly after Kingfisher Windows took on Nick Hibberd as Sales and Marketing Manager. Nick and Glenn worked closely together for more than ten years with Glenn’s previous employer where they went through a similar transition period of growth and expansion with considerable success. Kingfisher Windows are currently looking to carry out a similar move as well as investing in new production equipment and the further development of their production software and CRM system. This is with a view to streamlining the production side of the business so as to improve output whilst sustaining the highest industry standard on quality and delivery. “Having a team of people in place that have already gone through a radical period of change with some considerable success, should help to identify and alleviate many of the difficulties involved when growing a business of this nature,” concluded Neil Webster. As part of the development plan, Kingfisher Windows recently made the switch to Profile 22 and the Optima suite so they could help establish the Flush Casement and Flush Tilt and Turn Window in the North of England, And with strong growth in both Composite Door sales and Aluminium sales being forecast by the industry gurus, products that Kingfisher Windows already manufacture in-house, 2017 is promising to be a very eventful year for at least one major employee in the Morley area of West Yorkshire.
